

Masalah penelitian adalah bagaimana resepsi sastra kisah Gandari yang digubah menjadi puisi Indonesia modern? Untuk memecahkan masalah dan mencapai tujuan digunakan metode kualitatif yang ditopang dengan deskripsi, analisis isi, dan komparatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengungkapkan dan mendekripsikan resepsi sastra kisah Gandari dalam puisi Indonesia modern yang dilakukan oleh Gunawan Maryanto, Djoko Saryono, dan Goenawan Mohamad. Keywords: 3 Questioning Strategy, reading descriptive text Using Three Questioning Strategy is very good to be applied in teaching reading comprehension descriptive text. It promotes critical thinking and conducts students’ engagement to the text during reading activity. Three Questioning Strategy can motivate the students and make them interested in reading. In line with the result, the researcher suggests that using appropriate strategy to teach reading comprehension is very important for the English teachers because reading is such kinds of activity that often difficult for the students. The students point out that it is very useful to help them comprehend the text. In the third meeting, they get higher score than the first score in the first meeting. The students’ ability is increase after the implementation of the strategy. It could be seen from their active participation during class activity. They are able to cooperate and follow the teacher’s instructions. The result of the study during observation shows the students are able to implement the strategy. The result of observations and interview are described in the form of words, and the result of the students’ exercises are obtained after being analyzed using Rubrics Scoring Guide for Reading Comprehension test. The researcher collects the data through observation in the classroom when the teaching learning process, giving students’ exercises three times, and interview the teacher in the last meeting. The instruments which are used in this study are observation checklist, field note, interview, and student’s exercises. This study is a descriptive qualitative research. One of the most important skills is reading. In learning English, there are four language skills that must be mastered by the students.

English becomes important and compulsory in Senior High School since it is used as first foreign language in Indonesia. Abstract: The aims of this study are to describe how the implementation of Three Questioning Strategy in teaching reading descriptive text to the students of senior high schools of SMAN 3 Mojokerto, and to find out how the students’ reading abilities after the implementation of Three Questioning Strategy is.
